Membrane sweep to no epidural or any pain medication

So ladies, as I posted yesterday that I had my membrane sweep around 9.30am....3rd dilated and 65% effaced.  Started having the more intense BH contractions around 4pm...waited til 5.30pm to call the on.call OB then my water started leaking right after. We had a 35 to 40 mins drive to the hospital. Didn't leave the house til right after 6pm...in a had a big gush of fluid in our drive. When I got to the hospital I was 9cm & they can see his head already. No time for IV access, epidural or any type of pain medication so I pushed him out after 4 tries and I tell you what! I thought I'm gonna be torn up open manually.  The most painful experienced I've ever have in my life. My lil guy came out with a bruised & swollen face because he came out so fast...a healthy 7 lbs 9oz and 20.5inches long baby was finally in my arms right after!!! Good luck to you all who are still waiting! !!

Having my membrane sweep next Thursday.... I'll be 39 + 2 that day...im currently 2cm and 50 % effaced right now. My doc told me to take ibuprofen at my next appt for the sweep?- did your doc tell you this as well? I thought we were only allowed to take tylenol? Was the sweep really that painful?

My doc didn't even tell me beforehand that she's going to do it. She just kept going after checking my cervix so at first I thought it was just part of it then she told me afterwards that she did the membrane sweep. It hurt but only like my pinkie compared to the pain delivering my 7lb 6oz baby without epidural lol!

Thank you ladies! I was GBS positive but didn't get the antibiotic so we're staying in the hospital for 48hrs. We'll be going tonight! Can't wait to be home and reunite with my hubby and daughter!  Good luck to you all!
