I have been on it before and all thru my pregnancy for my diabetes.  It wasn't enough alone for my sugar during pregnancy so I also needed insulin. But metformin is safe during pregnancy for baby

I was taking it because I have PCOS, not diabetes. I stopped taking it when I found out I was expecting. But after reading about the benefits it does for pregnant women with PCOS, I started taking it again. It should also help me not develop GD.

I was told by my dr it's the best thing to take for GD next to insulin, I have GD too. I was placed on Glyburide first which didn't work and we knew it wouldn't since this is the 2nd time I've gone through this and then put on insulin.. I only stayed on it for a good 3 wks and was able to stop completely just from controlling my diet.

You're on it because you are diabetic (gestational or otherwise) correct?  It can be dangerous to have you blood sugars be all over the place for both you and your baby. You definitely need to keep taking it, monitoring your blood sugar levels and following a healthy diet.
