Acne can really make us feel awful, but this is probably your hormon levels causing breakouts... and your hormon levels should return to normal after birth or alternatively after breastfeeding.

Things you can do while battleing acne:
There are the few basics of course, which I'll include for you newbies..

Avoid touching your face.
So no more leaning your face in your hands at work or other touching.
If you have to touch your face, ensure your hands are clean.
Not like, visably, actually go clean your hands with soap before you touch your face.

Do not squeeze your pimples,
not only can it cause scars
-it can also inflame your pimple and cause it to hang around longer than it normally otherwise would.

Always Always wash off your make up as soon as possible after your day.
If you don't have the energy to wash your whole face after work, just get some makeup remover wipes and remove the makeup on your worst areas of breakouts.

Get a good acne cleanser.
My advice is to use it in the shower.. let it set for atleast 2min before washing it off again.
When applying your scrub/soap/treatment -whatever you end up using.
Apply on wet warm face, let it set, rinse off with warm water.
Ideally then after all this you should use cold water to close your clean pores again.

Do NOT toweldry your face -your towel carries so much bacteria and dust, you don't need that on your clean face.

If you absolutely have to dry your face, use clean dry tissues.

Your pillowcase is like your towel.
Just full of bacteria and dirt.
Make an effort to change this OFTEN.
And if you don't have a bunch of extra pillow cases to use, just put on a clean towel every night.

Make sure your hair stays away from your face when sleeping too.

Drink lots of water, it is really good for your skin.
Stay away from fat and sugary food.

In the morning, wash your face and finish with cold water.
Use a light day cream and let it set in before applying makup.
Make sure your makeup tools are clean.
Never use a makeup sponge more than once.
(Personally I dont like sponges)

Clean your makeup brushes after each use, if you only have one, but two more sets and regulate them between used/washed/drying.
If you're using your fingers, just make sure they are clean and dry.

Then of course, try not to use so much makeup.
Every hour you're wearing makeup it is stopping your skin from breathing and being able to heal from the acne... this is why you want to remove it as soon as possible.

If you go tanning, do NOT wear makeup at all.
Clean your face regulary with wipes -because sweat is really bad for your acne as well.
So when wearing makeup, stay out of the sun.

Good luck girls,
and remember, nobody is looking at your acne as much as you are.
Most people doesn't even think twice about it.
We are very self centered people :)

Ya chemicals can actually make your acne worse. Mine was so bad with my first I have cystic acne which if you don't know what that is its huge painful zits that are deeper than regular ones and if you mess with them they always come back and they always scar. And i also have regular acne. Nothing helped with my first.  This Time I'm staying away from sylsalic acid however you spell it it's OTC but not good during pregnancy and I'm using peroxide based face washes. If I wash my face every morning and night and follow with a great moisturizer no problem.  When I do have problems I use a mask with charcoal that I buy from origins as long as I stay on top of it I'm good. And I also get my moisturizer from origins it's expensive but it's so worth it and it's lasted me over 5 months and still have a bunch left

I broke out in my first trimester and started using a home remedy my mom told me about and now that I'm in my third trimester, it doesn't even look like I had acne..all I did was cut a tomato into slices and rub it all over my face every night and washed it off in the mornings and my face cleared up...your face will feel stiff but when you wash it off it feels soft..i still use it every night..hope it helps if you plan on using it:-)

Yes it started to clear up a few years later. Even the scars went away.

My face broke out horribly until midway thru my 2nd trimester.  I started using all natural, chemical free, African black soap on my face and moisturized with a bit of cold pressed all natural coconut oil. I found ditching all the chemical craps really helped.  Now people are telling me that my skin looks better than it has in years! Try it, it works!

My face broke out during my first two pregnancies but with this one I have been lucky. The only thing that worked for me with the first two was proactive. It worked great
