Morning sickness

Hello! This is my first pregnancy and am about 7-8 weeks pregnant. I have my first ultrasound tomorrow to determine how far along I am. I plan on discussing "morning" sickness with my doctor but would love to hear what has helped others who have suffered or are suffering with "morning" sickness. I am nauseous all day long! I am having trouble eating and drinking just about everything. I am constantly dry heaving and gagging. ******* Pops help but only while the pop lasts. I can't even look at saltines anymore! I do sip on ginger ale throughout the day but that is about it.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you!

Hey everyone! Thank you for all the advice! I am sorry you all know what I am going through! It is not fun!! I have been mainly drinking instant breakfast which has helped coat my stomach and give me nutrients. The doctor recommended the over the counter medication Emetrol. After starting it yesterday I was able to finally eat solid food and was able to keep it down!!
Those on Zofran, please be careful because there is a big lawsuit going on right now that Zofran has caused birth defects. I am not trying to upset or scare anyone, just want to make sure you are aware

Diglegis has been a life saver for me.  I put up with nausea until about 12 weeks and it was not getting any better, had trouble eating anything substantial.  It makes me a little tired but it works better than all the  ginger, sour candies, small meals, etc that I tried.

I was put on zofran which I also threw up I had to go to the hospital and constantly get an i.v. due to hydration I was even hospitalized at two months I couldn't even hold water down I lost 27 pounds and even threw up viol and blood constantly. Literally the day of my 3 months I went back to being completely normal and was released from the hospital

i know exactly what you mean.. The only thing that helped me was 100% pure organic Ginger Tea and the nausea pills the doc prescribed. Even then Battling nausea was exhausting but bearable. On the plus side, it went away the last week of my first trimester.  Just make sure you're still eating even if you don't want to or if you throw it up.

Oh man I feel for you! I was totally unable to function! To be honest, nothing really works apart from Zofran. Its the only thing that will just cut it off completely! My doctor prescribed it immediately, didn't have to even ask for it! I don't like taking medication during pregnancy so only took it about three times in total, but I needed a break as it was driving me insane!
The other obvious thing is to eat alllllll day long. Never leave without a snack, I would just snack on whatever made me feel good (I had a banana phase that really helped) every 20 minutes or so in very small quantities.

Good luck! Mine went away at 10 weeks from one day to the next! To the point where I thought  I was having a miscarriage - it was that brutal of a switch!

I had severe morning sickness for the first 3.5-4 months. I was in the hospital for dehydration and they gave me Zofran. I lived off of saltines for a week because it was the only thing that made me feel a little better. They tried to give me Diclegis because it's "more natural" but it made me drowsy and it made me feel like I had the flu. Zofran has been a complete life saver. I took it 3 times a day in the beginning and then started weening myself off by only taking it as needed. One side effect is constipation, but I will take that over puking, ANYDAY!!  Hope you feel better soon!!

I was put on zofran as the throwing up cause me to be severely dehydrated. Around 13weeks, everything settled down...unfortunately after thanksgiving and Christmas had passed...missed out on some good food this year.

Thank you so much for the reply! I really appreciate it! I am sorry you had MS until 19 weeks!! And yes I have not been able to cook or clean. Even when my husband cooks I have to sit in the bedroom away from the smells! I am going to try all your recommendations!! Thank you again!

Try chewing on a small slice of real ginger root...or make a tea out of it. Its very good esp in the morning. You eat saltines early when you awake, then sip of water right before getting out of bed. Try eating a protein bar at night before going to bed, or eat ice cream, it will also help with gaining some weight, in the day even if ur dry heaving, drink lots of water...and if ur eating meals, dont drink water in between only after a meal ,but eat small portions every 2 hrs or so...dont forget to drink milk and salads are good snacks...i am so sorry that you are experiencing MS , but its normal. Mine went away around 19 weeks. I hope yours will disappear much earlier, coz its really really hard. I used to cry everyday bcoz i could not eat what i want, i dry heave, i could not cook for my husband, cant clean the house etc etc...soon u will be better, just stay positive even though its hard to do , but remember, its all to pass! ♡♡♡
