Thank you all so much! Ive been going crazy for weeks in pain. Hopefully I have the same luck with this oil treatment
Oh yea just an fyi if you have never used the oil before. . . It creates a tingling/burning feeling on the spot. It's not painful nor will it hurt you. Just wanted to give you a heads up.
Personally I liked the feeling it took my mind off some of the pain.
The only place I could find peppermint oil was at a vitamin store. I used it for my migraines. I could see it helping with this and other issues. As far as I know there isn't really any certain way to use it. Just get it on your fingers and rub it on the sore spot. A few drops go a long way. I've heard some women say it might affect your milk coming in but my dr never warned me of that nor had any issues with me using it.
As far as the peppermint oil, look up health food stores. They may carry it. I would just put it on my fingers and rub it into where it hurts.
Have you tried a professional massage? I've never had my sciatic nerve act up until I was pregnant. It was bad from around 7 weeks until around 20 weeks. The first massage I got hurt sooooo bad during I was close to tears. He told me to push thru and that he guaranteed relief. He was right.
Where can I get peppermint oil? Is there a certain way to use it?
I have severe scoliosis as well. I'm going to guess it's your sciatic nerve being pinched. When mine is pinched I literally fall to my knees! I use peppermint oil on my place of discomfort. Normally works for me!
I just don't know what to do anymore, ive tried to use Tylenol, different muscle rubs, warm baths, and heating pad on low but nothing is helping me.
You can ask but its also likely your dr will make other suggestions first such as a belly brace, physiotherapy, safe pain killers, and/or physiotherapy. I had a spinal fusion a couple of years ago and ripped all my pelvic muscles at 15wks and my dr was very keen to keep me moving and using my muscles so they protect my back throughout pregnancy. It wasn't until I developed other complications that he recommended bedrest for the baby's sake. I hope you can get some relief! Good luck
