I had an epidural with my first but went natural with my five week old. I had a short labor, which helped, but it was being determined to deliver naturally unless there were medical reasons not to, that got me through. So much of it is your mindset.
Thanks moms pray for my strength!
Honestly the one thing that helped me was my mind set. I had my mind completely set on natural i even made sure to let everyone in the room know that if i need pain meds i will ask for them and if anyone offered or brought them up id ask them to leave. You cant fight the contraction you have to embrace them. Moving around helps because laying in bed will just make it more painful and last longer. Water like a shower. Heating pads for your back. Other than that yiu just have to remember wome. Having been doing this forever you're body is amazing and meant for this.
I took an epidural with my first one as well but my daughter areived in 4 hours ao it was not too bad. I plan to go natural this time andbfew thungs that I plan on doing is walking through the contractions. Warm water bath helps as well. Lamaze class will helo. It teaches how to ease pain through breathing properly. Also, take microwaveable heatung pads with you. I have heard it helps a lot with back pain. Ask your partner or dula to massage your back. Good luck to you. You can do it :)
Maybe there are some videos? I know that the typical hospital setting and making you be on your back is bad and hinders progression
I've seen squatting, or on all fours help when watching natural birth documentaries. Hospitals I hear frown on anything but the back position, which is why I'm doing at home birth, plus I hate hospitals
I thought about takin a class but wrk schedule is hectic n i only hve about 6 weeks left it that sooo
Try taking the Bradley method classes if you want to go the natural route. I think another is hypnobabies. A midwife or doula can really help too
