Nausea - Tips or hints?

Hi ladies,

I'm in Week 5 (presumably... we will be doing a dating ultrasound next week!) and the nausea and fatigue have hit big time.  The good news is that the baby developing!

I started Materna prenatal vitamins two days ago.  I know this can make the nausea worse sometimes.

Any tips or hints with how you've dealt with this?  No vomiting yet, just a ton of discomfort.  I've tried plenty of water, mints, and Tums but not much relief.

How much worse does this feeling get before it gets better?

Thanks so much!  Excited to be growing our first little baby and would love feedback on making this as positive as possible!!

I took and still take my vitamins at night time after dinner. It definitely helped with nausea that they caused.

Thank you so much for the advice and positivity!!
I took the advice to have small, dry things and I ate one of my hubby's Clif Crunch bars and it sat okay.  Definitely was MUCH easier going down than scrambled eggs for breakfast.
I'll continue to try all these things!  I am in a wedding party in a few weeks so I may need to get a prescription if the nausea persists!
Thanks again!  Your feedback is so wonderful!

Try ginger mints or gum. There's a brand called sea band that makes ginger gum, as well as acupressure bracelets that look kind of funny but are supposed to help. We're going on a trip this weekend and I'm going to try the bracelets for the flight to see if it helps... Good luck and congrats!!

Peggiepops helpped me alot and so did snacking. I switched to taking my prenatals at night and that worked better for me as well.

Yeah, definitely eat before you take your pill or eat a little bit of your food, take it and then finish the meal.  That's what I have to do.  And yeah, crackers, bready type foods to snack on during the day.  Dry cereal works for me too, especially when I want something a tad bit sweet.  It won't make it go away completely but it definitely helps.  I'm almost 6 months along and I still get nauseated off and on.  Never puke but the ill feeling can really become a bother.
