can i take cough droos?

Help mommas! Ftm, and 29w 4d.  I'm miserable, woke up to a terrible sore throat and cold. I can feel my esophagus's inflammation. I'm in agony.

Is it safe to take cough drops and if so, what kind?

I would fight a cold the natual way with fruits, soups, veggies, juices and lots of water..and ofcourse staying warm and resting... the drops just provide temporary relief but aren't helping you get healthy again.

I'm just getting over a nasty cold myself and was told any kind cough drop other than herbal, Tylenol Cold (plain - in other words no multi-symptom, extended release, etc.) and saline nasal drops are all safe to use.

When ive called the doctors office w that question theyve said yes.. since they didnt say a specific one ive always gone w one ive always liked.
