Thank you ladies !! (: you have all been helpful.
I got these drops that had no artificial dyes and it was just one drop a day. If your baby takes a paci or bottle it said you can put it on there, straight on your nipple.or right into their mouth of course.
Angrog the issue is exclusively breast fed babies do not get the recommended amount of vitamin D, since that's one of the only things not really passed through breast milk. Many pediatricians recommend that babies getting more than 50% breast milk get a supplement of vitamin D to make up for what is lacking in the breast milk.
I have never even heard of this...I do want to look into it but I wonder how much it really is needed...baby can get everything nuitriently needed from breast milk and through out time we have done perfectly fine with providing for our babies so I wonder why now we would need to give droppers of vit.d??
Meiks vitamin D is not passed through breast milk in significant amounts. That's the reason for giving the to baby directly.
My sons pediatrician told me once a day u can give it to the bb after u feed him/her or u can pump n mix in the bottle
Pregnancy and breast feeding vitamin have vitamin d in them I would be taking them so your baby gets vitamin d from u
I purchased the vitamin drops
I used abidec (may be spelt wrong) on my daughter it stated doses on box and had a measuring syringe etc..
I gave it after feedings because she would spit her milk if I gave it first
It doesn't have to do with the size and health of your baby. Vitamin D is just about the only thing our milk lacks in nutrition. I got the dropper and would put it in the corner of my daughters mouth while she was nursing and it wouldn't phase her. If I gave it to her straight she'd gag and sometimes spit it out. Or I mixed it with a little of my milk and gave it to her with the dropper. It doesn't matter when you give it to them, just as long as you do. Sunlight can even provide Vitamin D.
Doesn't matter what time you give it and its just once a day
Your Dr or pediatrician should tell you that, depending on the size and health of your baby. Call and ask
