No eating before being induced!

What can i do? Any moms experience this? I have my scheduled induction tomorrow at 9:00a.m. I'm 39 weeks as tomorrow also. I was wondering if I could eat before I go in.

Coming from someone that has been induced I ate before going in.  In fact dr told me to have a light meal.  About 6 that night was wishing I would of ate more.

They don't want you to eat because of possible chance of c section, possible asphyxiation. I had an epidural and did cheat a little. I would take a bite here and there.

My doctor didn't tell me anything. I'm so clueless on what to do. I don't want to be getting ice chips all day.

No eating 8 hrs prior to admission and clear liquids up to admission.  After that, they will give u water or ice chips.

No food comes in incase they meet to do emergency surgery (c section) - which did happen to me.

I'd assume your doctor would tell you if you should not eat (& what time you should stop eating before.) I'd think the only reason they'd tell you not to is because of possible csection. I had to have a scheduled csection which was scheduled for 6:30am & I was told to not eat after 11pm the night before. Then I couldn't eat the whole rest of the day! They finally gave me some sprite, but I didn't eat more than crackers until lunch the next day. Also, I think you can't eat once you get an epidural, but that is only from hear say since I haven't had one. Hope all goes well for you! Congratulations on your little one!

I ate after my water broke and my contractions weren't really steady. I'm not sure how that works with the pitocin but I had to have some woth y first son cuz the epidural stopes labor andi had no adverce reactions
