I just had it done 2 hours ago and nothing has happens. It wasn't bad I thought it was going to be like my last one when they stretched my cervix but the sweep I didn't even notice. I'm hoping it works cause I hear being induced is way worse and I have to be induced next Thursday.
They separate the amniotic sac from your cervix I guess. I Googled it myself and it sounds very uncomfortable, that's why I asked if anyone had it done.
I have never heard of this before what exactly do they do??
Thanks for your info everyone. I guess I should be able to handle it :)
I had it done at 39+5 and it didn't do anything I'm hoping my 41 week appointment on Saturday they do it again before my induction on Monday. It was uncomfortable but not too bad.
With my first, it was my due date and I was 1cm possibly 2 and the doc offered it to me. Never heard of it so I was just like yea whatever get this baby out. So she did it. Just breathe, it'll hurt for a few min but my water broke that night n I had my son the next day. 1 day after his due date. Highly recommend you do it. I only had it done once some people get it done two or three times. Not sure why, if doc gets you good once then u should go into labor with in two days or sooner. Good luck I hope it works for you!! ♡♡♡♡
I'm 39&1 and had membranes swept today it was just uncomfortable I was dilated 2 cm before so now im having contractions hopefully it works
I had it done with my 1st at 40 weeks not dilated or effaced at all. It was uncomfortable but not bad just was pressure. I had cramping like a period for a few hours but no contractions. At 2am during that night my water broke. Worked for me :)
I had mine done again today. Last week I was 2 cm she stripped me and nothing then I went again today and I could feel the membranes being tugged. I'm 39 weeks and hopefully it will happen I read about it and it says if it works it should happen within 48 hrs. It's uncomfortable but I just relaxed and breathed and I was fine
