Sorry I just reread your comment. Yes, its the same here normal pregnancies don't typically result in csections here either.
@ ms_farris I didn't know. If there is no reason for one I will definitely refuse to it . thank you!
Less likely to receive a csection from a midwife? Midwives can't perform csections where I'm at, they would have to call an ob to do that. Do you mean that they are less likely to cause complications or try other things before resorting to a csection or do midwives have more authority/training in your country?
Thanks so much for your answers. I really appreciate it. ☺
My OB has had reviews online but I have had a great experience so far. My mom also had her! And my mom liked her too. I think it's important to judge for yourself, but if you don't like your OB then definitely switch quickly.
Certain hospitals have midwives deliver and oversee normal pregnancies. You are less likely to end up with a c section when you receive care from a midwife.
I have met all the nurses and midwives and assistants... I'm 17.3wks and not once have I met my "doctor". Is that normal?
Mine had me meet all of the OBs just incase my normal doctor was not on call when i go into labor. Just like a meet and greet thing while they were still doing the check ups where you are just measured, fetal heartbeat listened to and bloodpressure taken. It was nice meeting them all
@Lizzie_campos you can refuse a c - section. The doctor works for you.
Btw my ob has some horrible reviews too! I really wish I would of seen those first. Most of the reviews is what I'm going thru now and about how the Dr with no reason at all just performs c sections on all his patients. I'm scared bc I don't want a c section but oh well. As long as baby is fine I guess.
If you don't like it for any reason do switch asap. I hesitated on mine and have gone thru hell with them and when I finally got fed up and tried to switch no one else would take me bc I was too far along and my pc didn't want to do anything either for the same reason. Good luck
