Flying at 36 weeks is risky. Prob not wise to go. Most airlines wont allow it. Or may not fly u back. Check airline thoroughly.  I would only go if it were a brother or sis wedding or close friend. Everyone else should understand.  Baby n ur health comes first.  Best not to risk but confirm with doc and airline first.  Good luck

I was just wondering the same thing. I am not that far along yet but I was supposed to go with my fiancé to mexico for his sisters vow renewal and when that happens I will be 36 weeks exactly and wasn't sure if I would be able to go. Can I ask you a question? Would you be upset if your significant other went without you and you had to stay home? Because that is what mine is saying he will do if I can't go and that really upsets me

I know women who have flown that far along in their pregnancy. And I have a friend now who is in the same position as you and her doctor told her that as long as the pregnancy continues without complications, then she can fly at 37 weeks. I would think as long as you are having a healthy pregnancy you could fly. And it is your first pregnancy so you are more likely to deliver after your due date. Just be prepared, call the airline and get flying info, talk to your doctor and get a doctors note, be prepared just in case you do go into labor out there, and check with your insurance. I've never heard of insurance not paying if you don't deliver at your hospital, an emergency is an emergency, but check anyways.

First: Check the airlinez rules on flying while pregnant, it will tell you if you need a *fit to fly* letter or not. The airline may refuse to let you board without it.

Second: Check with your doctor and let them know you intend to fly. Book an appointment shortly before your flight to make sure you are safely able to fly.

Third: ***** your insurance/medical coverage. Make sure you know where you will go if you need medical attention amd make sure your doctor knows where you intend to go as well. Take any medical records nessecary and keep them with you just in case. A little info goes a LONG way in an emergency.

Trip time: Drink plently of water. Wear compression socks/flight socks to reduce the risk of DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS which you will be of higher risk for since you are pregnant. Bring a pack of chewing gum for take off and landing in case your ears dont pop right away and something to calm your tummy (tums, ginger gum etc.) in case you need it. Wear layers so you can cool down or get warm on the plane if needed. Try not to fly alone.. if your SO can't go with you, take a friend/family member you trust.
And most def Aisle seat.

I was 26-27 weeks pregnant and flew from the UK to the US and back. If you hydrate like you should, you will be using that lavatory very very frequently.

I hope there will be no emergency, but especially while pregnant and traveling its better to be prepared than to discover something may have been of use that you didnt take with you. I forgot gum as I never needed it on flights before... big mistake.

oh! and your risk of getting sick increases both whole flying and while pregnant.. which means flying while pregnant at least doubles your chances... take that into consideration and if you do fly, make sure you have meds safe to use while pregnant.

Best of luck!

You are almost full term. Most doctors recommend pregnant woman not fly past 35 weeks. The flight itself won't hurt you or baby, but your chances of going into labor increases. If there is a particular doctor or hospital that you would like to deliver at, or if you are relying on insurance for your birth then you should probably stay home. Congrats though. Your baby will be here soon!

If you're not that interested in going, I'd just say you can't & stay home, haha. If you'd really like to go I would: 1) Get doctor okay 2) Have printed or online accessible records (just in case!) 3) Get an aisle seat (I just flew at 31wks4days, 4 hr flight & I peed seven times....) 4) Drink a lot of water & get up to walk around as often as possible. Drinking ginger ale also helped me because the pressure somewhat upset my stomach.

Just be careful. I know a lot of insurances won't pay after 36 weeks if you travel and baby decided to come while you are out of town. Ask your doctor and yes check with the airlines.

That's getting quite close! I'd definitely check with your doctor & the airline policy for whatever airline you'll be flying. I think they all let you fly before 37 weeks, but some require doctors notes. How long of a flight?

Talk to your doctor. If you're not high risk it should be fine,  but definitely ask your doctor first!
