first time mommy!

Honest: how are contractions? Do they hurt when they start? I.have a high pain tolerance so if it hurts I would be happy!

I was induced with my first two, and they did not hurt until they broke my water. Then the pain quickly worsened and eventually got unbearable.

Wow. ... then your in luck girl. .. lol! In the beginning there not so bad, just like bad cramps but as labor progresses they become stronger, longer and closer together. They can become really painful. My first 2 pregnancies were all natural births so I felt every little thing. It was tough, but for someone with a high pain tolerance maybe u won't find it to be so bad. ...I know I did! Good luck!

They don't hurt at first, kind of like small cramps. As time goes on they do start feeling like severe gas. Eventually one kind of automatically starts timing breathing to the pain so one can deal with it, and at that point if not already they will have a solid timing in hand and still be able to drive themselves to the hospital if they wish.
Beyond that I don't know as I was quickly given muscle relaxers because I was only in my eighth month.

The first ones don't hurt so much. A lot of women actually mistake the first few hours of contractions for gas pains lol. They do get stronger and more painful as labor progresses. How painful they are to you will depend a lot on your pain tolerance.
