I have high protein with this pregnancy but no signs of high bp and my swelling is very mild but my Dr is keeping close eye on me because I had preeclampsia with my first born and she came at 35 weeks emergency csection because she was in distress. Dr is wanting to start me on steroid shots for the baby's lungs to mature faster and then do scheduled csection at 36 weeks. I'm also going to a specialist high risk Dr every 4 weeks, I'm 31 weeks now. I would like to keep the baby in to at least 37 weeks but we'll see. Good luck to you.

You are far enough along that your baby will be just fine if you are induced :) and if you DO have preeclampsia, then it would be much better to have him out than in!

Signs like high blood pressure and protein in your urine and edema will be present in increasing amount. If you are going to regular checkups, the Dr will begin to monitor for fetal distress, at which point c section could be indicated, but usually with preeclampsia I believe they will try to induce labor early if baby isn't in distress, because if your body gets toxic, it can get life threatening to you as well. If you have a diagnosis of preeclampsia, you definitely want to be following Drs orders and getting to the hospital if you think anything is wrong.

I got it with my first 9 years ago about 7 month pregnant.  I was I and out of the hospital and did a lot if 24 hour urine collection.  Luckily it never got bad and was controlled enough until I was induced at 39 weeks. I'm now 31 weeks pregnant with high blood pressure and have a high chance of getting again.  So far I've on had a +1 of protein once other times just traces. I'm just being watched closely and more Dr. Appointments.

My bp has been higher but still within good range and they did find traces of protein... My feet have been instantly swollen for two days waiting until my appointment tomorrow, I'm torn because I want him out but I'd rather it happen for healthy reasons...
