Painful gas that feels like cramps?

So when I was about 4-5 weeks pregnant I had two episodes of what felt like bad menstrual cramps. It scared me because that's about the time I found out I was pregnant. I did go the ER the night of my second episode and they did a transvaginal ultrasound and everything looked normal.
Since then I have been to the doctor twice and had two other ultrasounds - the last one revealed a heartbeat!
However I still had cramps -no bleeding. Until one day I asked another doctor and she suggested Gas- X . I bought some and anytime I feel a painful like cramp coming, I take a gasX and it goes away!!!! I am now 8 weeks pregnant and I have my 8 week appointment this Thursday.

I basically want to know if anyone else is going through this?????

Thank you kimmy4711!  Everything has been normal at my doctors appointments and so I'm not worried about this Like I was before. So at this point it is just so nice to hear that someone else went through the same thing. None of my pregnancy books really mention this as a symptom but every woman is different!
Thanks again! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

That is exactly how I found out I was pregnant. Such bad cramps and it turned out it was gas. Pain went away around 12 weeks and I'm 30 weeks now and don't experience it anymore. Gas-x is what helped me too when I had it.
