Papsmear during pregnancy

Is it safe to have a papsmear in the first trimester?

I didn't have spotting but was told before each pap that I could and it was normal. Guess I just have a tough cervix lol.

I had spotting after. As long as its not bright red and clotting

Spotting is normal after your pap... Your doctor should of told you that as long as it's not heavy bleeding you should be fine... Congrats!!!:-)

Yes n had one with all mines also it a required that the dr do one. Like Caroline said they check for std,cancer, n how the cervix is. I just had mines 2wks ago when i was 4wks3days.

Yes I've had one with all four of my pregnancies. It's pretty standard in most offices .

Most doctors do a pap smear when you find out youre pregnant to check for infections and stds
