Pelvic pains

Hi, I am 38.5 weeks along and I've started experiencing some rather unpleasant symptoms all at once. I've been dealing with the almost lightening rod pains down thru my vagina as well as my uterus becoming hard for long periods of time. My hands and feet have also started to swell quite badly. The baby is still moving regularly- not as often as he or she was a few weeks ago, but still often and I've not had any bleeding- which the literature says are the big things to be worried about, but still it's all made me anxious. I've got an appointment tomorrow with the dr but I'm wondering if others have experienced this or if it's something I should be contacting the hospital about...
Thanks

I'm 35 weeks and have been experiencing the same pains for the last 2 weeks. I actually went to labor and delivery for fear that it was labor. The swelling in my vagina was so bad the pressure caused me to have hemorrhoids. I was told by the doctors and nurses that some of the pains were cause from my ligaments being stretched and the baby moving down. He's also expected to be a bit bigger than my son and daughter which can also contribute to more pain and pressure. As far as your uterus becoming hard that could be from Braxton hicks contractions preparing your body for the big day. Hope this helps, good luck

If the Paine and hardening come at the same time or may be contractions starting.
