MaterniT21

A friend of mine said that there is a genetics test that needs to be done between the 10th and 11th week. Is materniT21 just that ??

Also,  for any of you that have tricare. Does it cover this test? I lost my OBs number and im encroaching on my 10th well very soon.

The first set of blood tests to try and detect babies DNA probabilities was covered by my doctor. When they came back high risk my doctor then ordered Harmony. I haven't seen a bill yet but hoping insurance will cover since he ordered it and i didn't request it (some mothers do and also to find out gender early. gave me gender sister n law has results I find out tomorrow at reveal party)tests like harmony can cost a couple thousand. But even then harmony only gives a ratio probability of having a baby w downs but it's more accurate w less false positive high risk and false negative low risk. I'm spilling a story bc I was a absolute emotional and confused mess about it after the first crappy blood results came bk positive high risk.

These only draw blood the amnio which my doctor will not do due to the risk of miscarriage will have blood drawn from your placenta directly from your belly which can be dangerous in some cases

Yea. I refuse to do an amniocentesis due to the risk of miscarriage and because rhey will have to do it twice since i have a di/di twin pregnancy. The T21 is supposed to be like an amnio but non invasive

I'm 32 my first blood test came back high risk for downs that's when they offered the harmony blood test which came back all clear none of this was done until the last three weeks I'm 18 weeks pregnant now. From what I understand they only offer maternity T 21 or harmony which is the same thing basically if your first test come back high-risk
