Cerclage for incompetent cervix

Has anyone ever been diagnosed with incompetent cervix and had to get a cerclage for their next pregnancy? I am 26 and had a loss at 21 weeks 2 years ago. Now I am pregnant again (13 weeks) and I got a cervical cerclage placed two days ago to prevent my cervix from opening too early.

I was just curious if anyone else has had one or has to get one and what their experiences were?

I also got a cerclage for my cervix at 20weeks in my current pregnancy. Had to go on Progestrone until my repeats were finished but other then that no problems with the stitches. Now currently 36 weeks and getting the stitches removed tomorrow. Hope all goes well for you too.

I have had 2. The first one I got  with my daughter (she is 5 now) and it was placed when I was 20 weeks so it was an emergency surgery.  Had no idea I even needed one. I had 2 other daughters before with no issues. It went well and was but on bed rest for the rest of the pregnancy.  And they took it out at 37 weeks and had her at 38 week with problem. I also had another one put in with my son a year ago. They put it in at 14 weeks and had no problem!! Was even allowed to do normal routine.  So honestly I had no problems with mine and will have to have another with this baby as well.

I'm glad you've had successful pregnancies with both cerclages! It's so nerve wracking because this is my fourth pregnancy and still have yet to have had a baby. The other two losses were miscarriages at 6-7 weeks, so we're incredibly hopeful that this pregnancy with the cerclage will help finally get us our rainbow baby.
