Shopping for Baby! All comments are welcome!

Curious!?!? Am I the only pereon who thinks that shopping in ur first and first half of the second trimester is too early? I am a 4th time mother and understand all to well the excitement that comes along with shopping for a new baby. But when do u think its too early??

@GeekMom1213, it doesn't matter to me what people do with their money. U act as if I said don't spend ur money on baby items while ur pregnant. I didn't tell anyone to wait until the very end and splurge on baby gear. It was mearly a question followed by my opinion. Asking that question and getting others involved may had helped someone see other options for buying baby items.

I hope that some woman have found this comment helpful, I also seen different circumstance that may push me to shop earlier then I would personally like. Again thanks for all the feed back.

Honestly I didn't buy anything until after my baby shower. Once I went through all of the gifts I bought the things that I needed.

There's nothing wrong with starting to prepare early, especially for the first baby. Many families can't afford to go out and spend a few thousand dollars all in one weekend to buy everything at once - spreading it out over 6 months makes it easier to fit purchases into a family's budget and to find off-season clothes at clearance prices that will fit during baby's first year. Why does it matter to you what other people are doing with their money?

I'll be 10 weeks on Tuesday and I already have 4 onesies.... I never thought I'd buy so early but 2 were gifts and in Disneyland I couldn't help but buy 2. I know if anything happens it'll be really hard to see those but at the same time, I want to be as positive as possible. I won't buy more until I find oout the gender and definitely not going crazy til the 3rd trimester.

This is our first and we started buying things when we hit the second trimester. But we live overseas and baby stuff that we run across that we actually like is hard to come by sometimes lol.

Thanks ladies! I just see some woman buying things before they even made it out if the first trimester. I just think thats a little premature. I normally wait until 38-39 weeks and really until after to get anything else I may need. I am just leary after my bad experience.

Im only 12 weeks and I plan on starting at 4 months(even though I have a swing now). I dont know if that's to early but I plan on stocking up on dipers and clothes so I dont have to run out buying anything for the first few months .Also I think it will be easier on my pockets to get a  little here and there instead of just going on a get everything at once shopping spree I'm not poor but I'm not rich either.lol so I'll be getting a little each month.

We got the buggy in Jan sales when i was 28 or so weeks but only because it was a bargain. Other then that we did all our shopping on Friday the day before i turned 35 weeks. :)

I'm a ftm, and I plan on working until very close to delivery. I'm also a student, and finding free time, and emough money, is tough. I plan on buying a little bit at a time over the course of my pregnancy so that I'm prepared and not rushing or stressing near the end. I don't really know how baby showers work, but I'll probably buy the essentials as I go and anything else is just bonus. When I was a baby, I slept in a drawer until my parents could afford a cot, and I turned out fine, so I'm not really too worried about it, but think that preparing a bit at a time is a good idea. So I guess it's a long winded way of saying I don't think it's ever too early to start preparing.
