Yay! That's a fast little heart
My OB was able to get the heart beat! 171!!
I'm a plus size mommy to be as well. This is my first and I was worried about my size having an impact on my pregnancy experience but everything has been wonderful. We heard the heartbeat around 16 weeks through a Doppler. He tried to at earlier appointments but couldn't but said that it was normal for a plus size mommy and not to worry. My biggest change happened around 24 weeks where I all of a sudden looked super pregnant with a beautiful D belly and now again at 32-33 weeks I have popped again and look even more pregnant. I'm 35w5d and can't wait to meet my little one.
We had our doppler at the latest midwifery appointment at 12 weeks and they found the Heartbeat. She had to pull my belly up quite a bit to make the skin tight st the pelvic area. Since baby is still back there, she could only get the Heartbeat for a couple seconds, but it was clearly there.
I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks, intravaginal, and got a heartbeat then. I've been heavy for all my pregnancies.we lost the first, the second was heavy bleeding throughout, he's now 22 months, and this is my third at 14 weeks.
I hope this helps.
Hi I'm plus size too. Weight has nothing to do with the heartbeat. Doctors and midwifes advice that in any pregnancy the heartbeat can be heard at 16 weeks. In some cases in can be earlier but they say from 16. Don't worry it's nothing to do with weight. Xx all the best
