Am I just crazy, or is black spotting after a missed period and cramping normal?

I've never turned to internet forums before but I'm just totally lost and in pain. I'm taking triestarylla for birth control and I take it faithfully. I'm 28 and I've never been pregnant before but my long-time bf are active about once a week at least. BC is the only form of contraceptive we use. I am usually very regular with or without BC. Since on BC I have always ended my period the day of or the day after my new pack. Never fails. For about 3 weeks now I've had some pretty intense pmsing symptoms. Abnormally sore breasts, my lower back hurt more than usually to the point where bending over and coming back up is terrible. I started having real bad cramps in my lower right abdomen about a week into this that has only increased by day to the point where yesterday and today it hurts to sit. Before this whole saga I had a horrible week of migraines that just didn't let up. Plus I was having bloody boogers and nose bleeds. I'm prone to having migraines but never bloody nose. That finally subsided but led right into all of this. So back to the point of this. With all my boob tenderness, super achey back and now nausea and feeling woozy I have missed my period by a week. After the first couple days of missing I got worried and called my gyno. The nurse thought it was a virus but to take a test anyways. I did and it was negative but I still haven't started and I'm now a week and a day late. The cramping is ten times worse than before, it feels like there a weight on my lower back and my right side throbs. I've been getting waves of nausea and nauseous at smells or looking at food and very very exhausted. I've also had steady diahrrea throughout all of this only one day of solid. and my temp is low anywhere from 94 to 96. I also started spotting extremely dark almost black blood. Once about 4 days past missing my period, twice two days later and once today. That on top of the really bad cramping got me worried so I called my Dr and they said they could see me in two weeks. Well, yesterday the pain was so bad I couldn't sit comfortably, I had to be laying and the pain was starting to shoot up my back. I finally decided to go to the ER to see if they could find anything. Anything, kidney, cyst, any reason why this is going on. They did a urine test and a pelvic exam but didn't press on me at all. The urine came back neg so they refused a blood test when I asked. And they though it might have been bacterial but found nothing during the pelvic. Sent me home, hurting worse than before. I called my gyno again, and begged for an ultrasound since because I just have a gut feeling something is wrong. They got me in and did external and internal (which hurt so bad I cried when they went to the right) said it checks out fine. I called my reg Dr to get a blood test and they finally ordered one so I got that done today and waiting for results. Am I crazy? Like this pain is not normal at all plus the weird smells making me sick and the black intermittent spotting and cramping is just not sitting right with me. I've never been pregnant before so maybe I don't know, but I've never had such a gut feeling before that something is wrong and these DRs are making me think I'm making it up. Anybody ever had anything similar? everything I read comes back to eptopic but my Dr said no way.

I had that reaction to my first form of BC my OB switched after taking a month off and it never happened again. They said it was a reaction that takes time to build up and meant my body didn't like that form.

Also it is possible to get pregnant on BC i got pregnant with my first while on BC and I never missed a day of the pill.

But in any case anything not normal for your cycle should be address and NOt blown off by your dr. Especially when it's causing so much pain. If your dr continues to dismiss you try switching to a new OB if you can.

Yeah I've been on this BC for over a year now with no problems. But if it takes time to build up that could make sense. Thanks for letting me know that, I'll keep it in mind. I'm considering trying to find an different gyno. Hopefully the blood work will come back fine. I'm just so frustrated trying to find a reason and the gyno didn't even want to follow up or find out why, they just said well there's no baby so good luck.

I was one my for a little over a year before my reaction.
Sorry your gyno doesn't seem concerned, best of luck! Hope everything works out well.
