Pregnancy & SlimFast (NOT for weightloss)

Hey all,
Very brief outline on my situation.
2yrs ago we had a beautiful baby girl who was born at 30wks +1. She died at 9 days old from N.E.C (a condition linked with prematurity. I had an emergency c-section because of pre-eclampsia, I then got HELLP syndrome.
since I have suffered with water retention (similar to pre-eclampsia symptoms) first thing each morning. Docs can't explain it and stopped investigating.
The only thing I have found to help with the painful, uncomfortable retention is SlimFast. This was aiding weight loss too.
Now found out I'm pregnant, and of course concerned about pre-eclampsia, esp as the symptoms could be masked by the retention I still get.
Is it safe to continued with slim fast, prob with whole milk and fruit or something as it won't be for losing weight anymore?
Thank you.

Thanks, yeah I'll check. one of the many arguments I've had with my GP... they won't put me on water tablets :( So glad when I get to the hospital (consultant led from the start this time), they might have some ideas on what's occurring.

Have you asked your ob if you can take a water pill to help with the water retention?  Have you tried makibg your own protein shakes? Slimfast has so much crap in it I'm not sure I would drink it while pregnant.
