I smoked for 15 yrs and quit cold turkey. Im 15 weeks/FTM. It is a DAILY struggle for me... Its not easy.  Its one of the hardest things ive ever done. Im in a very stressful relationship and I often come close to giving in to temptation.  But knowing the toxicity of smoke makes me scared to do it while pregnant.  I keep telling myself, "My conscience is stronger than my cravings."......its the only thing that helps.

I smoked for 11 yrs and with my first pregnancy it was super easy to stop cold turkey I put my pack of cigs up so I had control to say no even though they were rite there.... but now it was hard in the beginning but being 22.2 wks I maybe sneak one a week if that but I always feel like I stink after and I have to shower and brush my teeth! But my baby is doing just fine and once after gain have after gain whole pack that I can say no too! Good luck i know it's hard!

I was a smoker I didn't pick it back up after my fourth baby but always quit when I found put it was hard with my fourth but I just pictured my baby not being able to breath every time I took a puff. I have friends that smoked with their pregnancy and one of them their baby had problems from it as had as it is it's something that has to be done part of being a parent always putting your kids first you just need to find your strength and everyone's is different you can do it have more faith

I was a smoker and a bit if an alcoholic up until I found out I was pregnant... I knew the smoking was bad and I had been wanting to stop both but I was so addicted to smoking and drinking... Then by the grace of God, somehow after a long time of not getting pregnant it happened out of no where.. I took it as a sign.. It was the push I needed to go fully sober.. I had smoked maybe 4 more times after knowing but then just completely stopped at 9 wks... Haven't touched either since.. Its been hard putting all these restrictions on myself.. But I feel like its only a short amount of time in the long run.. U canquit.. The addiction makes you think you can't but u can.. My boyfriend took advantage and quit with me.. Trust me, it was hard at first but we think back on those addictive days and can't believe it was us, even though we had the habit for years.. Please push past the addiction.. It will make the pregnancy easier for you.. It feels so much better

I quit a week and a half ago and it's so hard.  I've been smoking for thirteen years and my pregnancy was a surprise.  I cut down a lot and then finally one day I was just like this is my last day.  It's so hard though on top of stopping drinking and cutting out caffeine.  It's like I changed my entire life all of a sudden.  I know how bad smoking is and I still want a cigarette, but I haven't given in.  I've just tried to avoid the environments where I normally smoke.  I've also been eating a lot more, which blows.  You should try to get your husband to quit with you, because it's infinitely harder to quit when your significant other is still smoking (I trying multiple times with an ex).  It's nice to know I'm not the only one struggling with this though!

I quit smoking 5 years ago before my 1st daughter was born (she is now 3.5)... I was trying to get pregnant for 6 months so I had quit during that time (actually before my husband came back from deployment)... I was never addicted to them though... after she was born I have had a few when I was severely stressed out but still never addicted. .. now there are times when I am stressed and I want a drink and a cigarette but cant cause im preggers (I work in a very stressful environment)... just do your best to cut back and quit... talk to your doctor and they can give you resources to ensure a healthy pregnancy

I work for a vapor store. As in e-cigs. I also used to smoke before I found vaping. Confirmed by my doctor that it's completely safe. Consumable products in the ejuice. And a great alternative to smoking cigarettes. It's an idea for you to try or think about. And they are relatively inexpensive depending on location. Here in MO. A quality setup is averaging 29.99 with juice. Stay away from gad station brands like Vx OR Foos. They are not made in USA therefore could contain extra ingredients.  It works for me during stressful times ands taste so much better while getting a little nicotine. That you aren't fully consuming.

Aww that ***** your having trouble quitting. People say cigarettes are one of the hardest things to quit. just think of all the chemicals in smokes and the carbon monoxide that your breathing in Everytime you do have a smoke.. Maybe that will help you quit.  Good luck.

Just want to say....  We are not bad mothers and smoking while pregnant does not mean we don't cherish our baby. Don't let people make you feel like you don't care enough. Especially people who don't smoke have no idea how hard it is.

I am in the same boat. I am 26 weeks and have been trying to quit. I keep making goals to quit but it is so hard this time. My baby is growing fine and is healthy but I still feel so guilty but even the guilt isn't making it easier to quit. Good luck to you. Hope you can do better than me.

I was a smoker 7 years ago with my first baby. I tried desperately to quit!! I cut back to 3 or 4 a day, it was hard!! I finally did quit for good right before my daughter turned 1.   She was born in perfect health. Yes, I felt guilty as hell having to smoke, and I will never judge another mom for something I went through myself.  My suggestion is that if you clearly cannot quit then try to cut back as much as you can

I don't smoke, but just wanted to say sorry you're having a tough time. I am sure it is hard wanting to quit so badly and not being able to.
