They losly hold down your wrists with the restraints, its for ur safety, youll be numb anyway, at that point u wont care. I had the same experience as first poster. 2nd c section in april. Except it didnt take an hour to stitch ne up, it took 5 minutes
But both my c-sections have taken at least an hour if not an hour and a half. Talk to your doctor at your next appointments and have them explain how they will do the procedure so you can hear it from them directly.
I don't remember my arms being strapped down for the last 2 I've had but I was told when I preregistered at my hospital that they would put my arms out and strap them down. I have heard that they will give you anti anxiety meds if you need them or ask. Honestly once the meds kick in you're pretty distracted, all I could think about was what my baby would look like and hearing their first cry.
I def will thanks ladies!
I held my mom and my husbands hands until baby came and then was handed baby to hold after born for a minute (with help since I didnt have much room between the screen and my face lol). In WA my husband left with baby and they let my mom stay with me while they stitched me back up. In CA they escorted both out with baby then stitched me up. A lot depends on the state and hospital. Definitely talk over details with your doctor so you know what to expect.
Ya im hoping i can handle being held down if they do so here in texas!
I have had two too and I have never been strapped down. May depend on state, hospital. I had one in WA and one in CA. Also for me the whole procedure from start to finish was about 30-45 mins. Took about 10-15 til baby came and then about 20-30 to stitch me back up and I joined baby and husband in recovery room. I felt pressure and tugging during my one in CA but in WA I felt nothing.
Thanks for this. I was gonna ask because I have to have one too. The problem is I almost had a panic attack just thinking about being strapped down and not being able to move. One of my biggest fears. But I guess I have to get over it.
Ok the idea of being tied down is really making my crazy i hate being held down but i guess with being numb i wont notice much! Thank u it helps knowing what i will be facing! One more question where do they make the incision everything i read just tells me to by granny panties so it wont rub the incision?
I've had 2 c-sections and will have my 3rd on the 29th. You will go in a couple hours before your scheduled time for surgery so they can prep you, IV, catheter, shave, and monitor the baby, then they take you back to the OR, your husband or partner will join you after you have been given your spinal block, after that they hang a blue sheet up to block you from seeing the surgery, and strap your arms down to keep you stable and cover you with warm blankets. Once they make sure you are numb they start the surgery. You only feel tugging and pressure. While they remove the baby. Usually only takes about 5minutes to get the baby out. A few more for you since there's 2. You should hear them cry. They will bring the baby over shortly for you to see and let daddy hold before taking them to the nursery. It takes about another hour to stitch you up. The you are moved to recovery for 1-2 hours so that the anesthesia starts the wear off. They will have you up an moving that same day. It will hurt but you need to be as mobile as possible and they will give you pain meds.
