Probable boy?!?

I opened the envelope from my ultrasound after we did our gender reveal. I expected it to say its a boy or girl. Not "probable boy". Does this mean they aren't sure its a boy? It kind of left me unsure and confused. The picture they had in the envelope isn't good and doesn't look like a penis at all. (I have a son and its completely different then his ultrasound pic)

I've only had 3 scans, the first appt, one in the er at 17 wks and 20 wks for my anatomy scan Dr said unless there is a problem I won't have another. I'm seriously going to ask for one on Tues when I go in since I was in another car accident Fri. (3rd in 6wks)

I only had two ultrasounds and I'm 37 weeks 4 days. One at my very first appt, 8 weeks 5 days and the second at 22 weeks 5 days where they said I was having a boy. I asked "For sure I'm having a boy? You're positive?" She said ultrasounds aren't 100%,  but she was 99.9%.

When we found out the sex my doctor said that they can never say 100% the sex due to different reasoning. So they may just be saying "probably" to cover their butts :). Apparently they can only say 85% positive. Or at least that was what my doctor had said.

The testes of a male don't really drop until you are in the third trimester and sometimes that can't see for sure depending on baby's position. It's better she told you there might be a chance it's a boy then telling you for sure it is when it actually might not be. So basically saying it looks like a boy but maybe wait a few weeks to look again. They generally do about 3-4 ultrasounds in a normal pregnancy, so that shouldn't be your last. Unfortunately you'll just have to wait until your next U/S or you can pay for one out of pocket if you really want I know or get a blood test done that'll let you know the sec of baby. I would say for the time being just get gender neutral colors if you want to start shopping and keep receipts. You can always return them when you find out for sure.

I part of me wishes I would have just waited. For some reason that envelope disappointed me. Hopefully I can talk to my midwife about it at our Appt in 3 weeks

My doc said the first ultrasound he could see was probably a girl...he made sure she was still a girl at next appointmnent.  He said he did not want to say girl for sure in case her position was hard to see.
