Push back ultrasound?

Hey all! I'm 26 and pregnant with my first. I'm about 11.5 weeks along and have had one Dr appt. He said everything seemed fine and scheduled an ultrasound appt in 2 weeks. However, I just started a new job and am on a probationary period, therfore I don't have insurance. Is it okay to wait until my insurance kicks in around December to have blood work and an ultrasound done? Or should I just suck it up and pay out of pocket?

Im 28 and first time prego also. I'm also in the same position as you waiting on my insurance.  I've had to push back my appt but my doctor said it was no problem. I've only had one other appt and I was like 7 weeks.  I am now approaching 16 weeks. Don't worry about it. Don't incur such a huge bill

I would apply for state health Insurance although you have a job,  they don't provide you health insurance so the state should be able to help and you can put pending insurance Claim and not pay any money until you ate approved or denied. But make sure your office takes the state insurance and save money just in case

I would wait!   My first round of blood work would have been $800 out of pocket if I didn't have insurance and I had to still pay $250 for my first ultrasound because we haven't met our deductible

It's fine to wait. But you could also find a coalition for life or something of that sort and they may do one for free.

I'd personally wait. Both pregnancies I skipped the screening ultrasound at 12wks. Its the 18-20wk Morphology scan that is really important.

If its for the prenatal screen the blood work and ultrasound need to be done between 11 and 13 weeks
