Question for already mums about bath time

Hi there! I was just wondering (I'm a first time mummy) once my baby is here and I start bathing her I know I can put a little bit of the baby wash in the bath tub and baby shampoo If she has hair, but after I have dried her do I put baby lotion as well as talc powder or do I use only 1 of these? Also if I have to use either lotion OR powder which do you ladies prefer?

Thankyou!!! :)

I have also heard not to used powder on girls anyway. I am not really sure why but my kids Dr said not to used it. I just use baby lotion after each bath.

I wouldn't recommend putting soap in the water. My daughter loved baths and we found at her 3 year check up her urethra closed and she just had surgery last week to open it. They said it's from long baths and soap in the water and at night if she wet the bed. Now we have to shower her and put desitin cream on every night. But we did use powder when she was a baby but we sprinkled it on a cotton round and pat it on instead of pouring from the bottle.

I don't use powder until they're older it is bad.for them to breathe so I use desitin for rashes.  Plus with my sons  they were circumcised so I couldnt use anything but vaseline for a WK or so. But I always use Johnsons bedtime.lotion it smells.soooo good. It's my favorite. I'm 14 wks and.I'm already stocking up again:-) but powder is.good when they're.older and its.hotter soaks up some of the moisture. Good luck and congrats momma

We used Johnsons top to toe in bath and on hair at first. Then would dry him and use the gentle moistoriser maybe every 2nd night coz his skin wasn't that dry. Didn't start using talc until he started to get rashes which didn't really start until teething at approximately 4mths. I never believed in talc because I'd heard its bad for babies lungs but there's no warning on that packaging and it honestly does help keep rashes away. I just put it on my hand and then rub it on his bum so he doesn't breathe it in.
