when did you switch to maternity pants?

14 weeks and already needing maternity pants? I've only gained 5 lbs and the legs of my pants fit, but the waist band part digs into my uterus/belly region and it hurts. Anyone else experience this early?

Whatever makes you more comfortable. I probably bought some at 12 weeks because I was busting out of my pants and super uncomfortable. It also helped reduce my heartburn by having better fitting pants!

As soon as I couldn't button my jeans I switched. I just wanted to be comfortable. Yoga pants are pretty awesome too.

I plan to make a belly band out of a body shaper tube top.

I'm 21 weeks still wearing my pre-pregnancy pants most of the time.  That said, however,I lost 30 lbs in the months before I got pregnant and lost more when I got pregnant so my pants were loose.

DanielleLorene I'm in the same boat. Legs fit fine in my pants but waist is too tight. I've been wearing maternity pants since week 12. This is also my second child and I hear women tend to show earlier the 2nd time around.

I'm ninE months and never wore any. I'm in a size one now woopwoop!!! When I was pregnant with my twins I wore done though because it helped support my belly. Probably around 7 months

I honestly didnt like the belly band i got very much, it didnt ever stay in place and like you, my regular pants were still digging into me painfully even unzipped and un buttoned. I finally went and bought some real maternity pants at 12 weeks or so i believe. Best investment ever. So much more comfy.

I am pushing nine weeks with my first pregnancy and have been wearing a belly band for about a week now. I can still zip and button my jeans but after a while the button is uncomfortable. I normally zip them, just wear the band because if they aren't buttoned they will come unzipped. I figured whatever, it's about my comfort not when the "right" week comes along so everyone else is okay with me wearing the band. Do whatever you feel is right for your needs and comfort. All of us are different, just like each pregnancy.

I started wearing them around 14 weeks. I wasn't showing but I was bloated enough to feel uncomfortable.
Maternity clothes are designed to take you the whole way through. They should fit your Pre pregnancy weight and carry you until the end.

I figure the earlier you start wearing hem the more use you'll get out of them! With the high prices, you might as well wear them for as long as possible!

You may want to try the belly band. They are expansive but all you need is 1 and you can still wear your regular jeans/pants.

I'm 26 weeks and still wear my regular jeans. I just put a hairtie through to hold them together and it works great.

About 9 to 11 weeks. I work in an office and when my jeans started to get a little tight, it was hard to sit in em, so I went shopping. I think if I didn't have a sit down job, I might not have needed em so soon. I'm so happy to have em though.

Right around 13wks I started wearing maternity jeans cuz I gained a good 15 lbs by that point, and completely transitioned to maternity pants and regular leggings by 18 weeks.  I'm almost 28 wks now and none of my regular clothes fit since now I've gained 30+ lbs..

I am 12 weeks and wearing some mat pants.   My regular clothes still fit fine but i had bought some cute work pants i couldn't wait to wear.   Switch whenever you are ready.  They have come a long way over the years so people shouldn't even notice they are mat clothes.
