Rectal prolapse after childbirth :-(

I'm very proud to say I gave birth to my little princess Mackenzie Lillie-Grace in the early hours at 4am this morning. She weighed 8lb 1oz & very healthy. I'm a ftm and the labour was excruciating, even with gas/air and pethadine. It was a vaginal birth.

Ever since, my bum has been really hurting & I'm walking like John Wayne. Sorry its a bit tmi but I decided to check to see what's wrong & I feel a rectal prolapse.

I've googled it & it only comes back with vaginal prolapses mostly, but no help with rectal ones. Has anyone else had one? How can it be treat? I daren't go for a number 2 as I know it will hurt badly. I can't sit properly & it hurts badly when I cough & get up from sitting. I'm passing a lot of wind too :-(

I got sent home the same day but the midwife came round today. I mentioned it to her & she said it sounds like a haemorrhoid. Shes gonna look at it tomorrow. She suggested getting some ointment (anusol) for it.

And thankyou! It feels very surreal!

are you still in the hospital?id ask a dr or midwife to check it and let u kno what can be done..i couldnt walk or sit after giving birth without lots of discomfort for a few days..it may be normal (i kno it may sound awful to let them check..but theyve seen it all before..totally normal to them)
