Sad :-(

Anyone ever been told they had placenta previa?

If so, how far were you? And what was the outcome?

Yesssss...I was had it with my daughter... I was on bed rest the whole pregnancy...you can't have sex..if it doesn't move you will not be allowed to have a vaginal birth because you can bleed out and baby can die...mine shifted a week before I went into labor thank God...Good luck to you keep us updated....please take listen to your doctor and don't have sex because it can rupture the placenta..

My mother had this 2 times, she had to have a c-section both times, she didn't listen to the doc about bed rest with my sister, and had placenta abrupt, bleeding occurred. This happened with all 3 of my siblings but me, and they are all perfectly fine. You just might have to have a c section.

My friend was diagnosed with placenta previa. She was put to bed rest for 3 months and was seeing a specialized doctor. But by the end of her second trimester it was perfecrly fine and she resumed all her regular activities. Last month she delivered a beautiful baby girl. :) i am sure you will be fine.

Be very careful with placenta previa take it easy. I was diagnosed at 16 weeks with my first pregnancy but as mines moved up it started to split from my uterine wall causing placenta abruption. It caused me to go into labor and I had my son at 26 weeks his 6 now but it was ruff. I'm not trying to scare you stay positive and stress free. No sex at all it can cause more problems and bleeding.

I was told i had the same thing at my 20 week scan but not to worry as it could move on its own, here i am 40+3 weeks and my last scan showed it was still anterior but had moved up and out of the way of my babies head, looks like I'm in with a chance of natural birth, hope urs works out the same way

I was told by my doctor and midwife that the further along you get, your placenta will actually move up. One of my relatives had placenta previa and their placenta ended up moving in the correct spot :)

I had it, found out around 18-20 weeks not sure.. It eventually moved and I was in the clear.. Dont worry about it too much. Most if the time they move when you get bigger.

I was talking about this with my midwife yesterday, actually. I don't have it, but we ended up on the subject somehow... First of all, how far along are you and how close or over the cervix is the placenta?

From what I understand if you are in your second trimester, there is a chance that with uterine growth the placenta can grow away from the cervix. The placenta will typically try to migrate, so to speak, up where there is more blood supply, which is the top of the uterus. The placenta doesn't actually move, just with the expansion of the uterus and growth of the placenta it can end up further away from the cervix. I hope everything turns out okay, but if it doesn't move, likely you'll need a c-section. I'm sorry. I typically try to be more positive, but unfortunately, this is a situation where it would be medically necessary for one. I hope things turn out okay for you.
