external Version or C section?

My baby is  breeched position :/ im 37 weeks. Doc says i have to do something soon (if i want to get her flipped) bc shes getting bigger and bigger. ive tried different methods and still trying. I have till this Sunday. Idk if i should go for the version (where they flip her themselves) which can initiate labor, or just have a scheduled c section.  What is your opinion?

I had a c-section because my little girl was breech at 39 weeks and 4 days!!!
They asked me if I wanted them to try and turn her only 50% chance it would work or go for the c-section ... Well I had the c-section :)

I heard versions r not safe. As per my understanding y to take a risk. Better to go for C-Section, but this is completely my view. Rest all depends on wat u want. If I would have a breech baby , I wildhv opted c-section. Intact I still say to my doctor that if their is a1% risk on vaginal birth , pls go ahead an operate me. Which ever manner I just want my baby to b safe. Rest recovery pain I can bear but I just can't risk my baby at any cost...
So all the best just go ahead with wat is better for ur lil one and do consult ur doctor b4 any decision.
All the best mommy.

My thing is also if its painful for mom don't you think baby would be feeling pain also from being push and shoved on? That was in my thoughts when i made my decision...i would never recommend csection in any other circumstances but this is one i just felt was the best decision...i also didn't have anyone i knew that went through it so all i had was the scary internet to go off of and my dr saying almost all end in emergency csection if i would have known people with sucessful experiences it may have changed my mind.

So sorry you have to make this choice. My understanding is that versions are really quite safe and that the chance of needing an emergency c section is very small, though it does, rarely, happen. They are very painful, but more than 50% effective.  I have two friends who had successful versions followed by vaginal deliveries and they both said that although the version was very intense, they were glad they did it. They both strongly wanted to avoid a c-section though. They also accounted for the possibility of an emergency by packing as if they were going to have a c section the day of the version, that way at least the transition would be smooth. They both came through totally fine, though!  Good luck with whatever you choose!

I haven't experienced a breech baby, so I can't tell you about how it is when the doctor turns your baby, but having had a scheduled csection and still having a very long and painful recovery I really can't just suggest anyone to just schedule one. Mine was from placenta previa, so I had no choice on the matter.  I heard from some women that flipping the baby turns out painful and could possibly lead to a csection anyway, however from my experience, I'll never opt for another csection again.  Just think though, no matter what, any labor could end in a csection! It is always an option. If you choose the external version then you may have a good chance of delivering just fine, but if you choose the csection you'll never know. Also, the chances of having a child vaginally after a csection are increasing, but you will have to a good deal of research and find just the right doctor to have your best chance if you want to go that route later. A lot of doctors don't exactly like doing VBACs even though the risk is very minimal. (Just like any other birth that may lead to csection.) It's your decision and just remember that everyone has a different birthing experience. Good Luck!

I was in the same situation and read the risk of the version and decided to go with a scheduled csection i didn't want to put my baby in any danger or distress and end up with a emergency csection then i would just remember my first childs birth as a tramatic experience. At least you know what to expect with a scheduled csection. Thats just my choice and opinion
