eating on iv lines advice asap!

Right now i am in the hospital. Im 34 weeks pregnant and came in because i was having horrible contractions. Hooked me up to iv lines and they went away slowly. Gave me another liter and im better. Ive been here since 4pm and its 9:20pm!!! I was starving ,I couldnt handle it. I ate a burrito, frito chips and a bit of crush soda. Is it bad to eat while connected to iv lines.??? The nurse has no idea i ate. I cant find anything online about eating while connected to iv lines.. did i do wrong by doing so??

They would tell you if you were not allowed to eat. Im sure your fine. But if your that worried just ask, your not gonna get in trouble.

just make sure that you tell tell them that you ate.  they need to know if you have to be taking in for a section.  other than that you should be fine to eat.  plus if you were there at 4 they should ahve brought you at least a sandwich or something

You can eat while on iv fluids unless the doc orders you not to. If that was so,  the nurse would have told you. Enjoy your snacks.

Depends what was in the iv. If just fluids you'll be fine. I went into preterm labour last week and had iv morphine, antibiotics and something else to stop the contractions and when dinner was delivered they took it away but I couldn't eat anyway from the drugs and pain, was so out of it.
