The major issue you will most likely face is hospital policy... My hospital won't let my Dr do a planned section or induction before 39 weeks unless medically necessary... I tried :-( I'd say your best bet it to ask for it the day after or a few days after her birthday. My Dr wasn't on for when I hit 39 weeks so my section is planned for 39.2
I'll talk to my doctor and see if he will consider doing it at 38w. The reason why he wants to do the csection in the 1st place is because the size of the baby. My son had a horrible time comming out and broke his collar bone as well and this is the 2nd dr to tell me the baby is going to be bigger. My doctor is not comfortable wit trying to risk letting me have him vvaginally and I agree. So because of that reason I would thing the sooner out the better as long as its safe for the baby.
I am scheduled for the day I turn 38 weeks. But it is for medical reasons. My scar came open a little on my second c section so they are too nervous for me to wait until 39
You have all the say in what you want to do. Doctor's are on your time, you're not on theirs. I'm a med student and a lot of doctors do that because it's easier and more convenient for THEM and they get paid a lot more to do c-sections. This is your family's most precious moments. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor to tweek the date a little. Give your children different days to celebrate =)
Yes Drs only do them after 39 weeks unless medically necessary
I had my first one at 36 wks due.to.low.fluid. this.one they want.to due at 39 o. Jan2 but I'm going to Insist on 38 wks -38 wks +5days bc I wan t a December baby!
Ok so maybe my best bed will be trying to do it the day after. My fiance said just do it on ky daughters bday and not to be so picky but my lil girl was kinda upset when I told her I might have the baby on her bday. I just thought being that it was planned that I might as well work around that day so I could spend it with her. Afterall once the baby is here he will consume alot of my time.
My doctor always does it at 39 weeks they've talked a lot of doctors out of doing them before 39 weeks since they changed full term to 39 weeks
