Skin to Skin question

If you have a C-section do the docs still let you do skin to skin? After you're all sewed up of course.

I had a c section last Monday and they asked before doing anything if i wanted skin to skin and i said yes. I guess with all the people there was a miscommunication in the OR and i wasnt able to see him until after he was cleaned up but hubby got to.

Yes they do but that's only if you're awake after the procedure. For my first I was knocked out for the c-section cause my epidural only numbed one side of my body so I didn't get to see my baby until 3 hours later. If everything goes fine then yes, that shouldn't be a problem, well at least in America.

I was told that yes even tho I'm having another c section I can still do skin to skin with my son when he is born as long as surgery goes smoothly

I just had a c section on Tuesday morning and my husband immediately did skin to skin then I did after maybe 20 mins in recovery I live in Canada

It's Ur right to have what u want done with the baby i would totally ask doctor about all of it.. don't let then rip u around u pay them..

I actually got to hold my son skin to skin for a bit right after he was delivered while they were sewing me up. But something like that probably depends on the doctor/the hospital you're at.

I'm having a C-section on the 20th of next month and I asked to a natural C-section it's not where they don't give u the medication. It's where they let u see them pull the baby out and they give the baby straight to u and u can keep the baby as long as u want they can clean the baby off weight the baby or
measure the baby until ur ready u can even go ask far as not letting them wash the baby up so there for they can never have no ungloved contact with ur baby...

After a C-Section they automatically clean, weigh & wrap the baby up, u can't really do skin 2 skin right away cause they way ur laying

Of course! I have had 3 csections, and come the new year have my 4th :)
