I askedy Dr. and she said the risk is very very low, that it got popular not to eat it years ago when there was a listeria outbreak in one of the lunch meat factories. I was told that it is fine and if I was worried to nuke it for 10 seconds in the microwave. I have been eating at Firehouse subs. They steam their meat bit I would have a cold one if I was craving it!

Although I don't eat much lunch meat (I must admit I like a hot ham and cheese on occasion) I LOVE eggs over easy. I have to have it. So yummy!

They say it increases the risk of listeria due to a decrease in your immune system secondary to pregnancy. I myself don't eat it, but I'm not crazy about lunch meat to begin with. My best friend is also pregnant and she eats it all the time with no issues. I know other cultures eat sushi and even soft cheese. Their babies are all fine:)

Oh I've enjoyed deli meat with all my pregnancies from Subway.  Until this pregnancy and this app I had never even heard of this before.   So I figure if it didn't hurt me before im going to keep on enjoying my sandwich.

It increases listeria risk a little. That said I know plenty of women who continue to eat sandwiches and a lot who have never even heard if avoiding deli meat. Your choice but I would say the risk is very small. (I say this as I sit eating runny eggs for breakfast... Which a lot of people have also not heard of not eating.)

Some will say yes others will say only if its heated. I don't like it heated either and I've been eating it.
