Smell sensitivity and nausea

I Teach high school, and when school starts up again next week, I will officially be 9 weeks.  We are still not trying to tell people (though my bosses know in case I get sick at work).  Speaking of getting sick at work, I have horrible sensitivities to smells that trigger violent waves of nausea.  I'm not saying teenagers smell, but.... Some have yet to learn the art of hygiene and some BATHE in cologne and body sprays (most are fine).  Any advice on preventing or getting passed those smell induced desires to vomit?  I'm so afraid of throwing up while teaching a class, and having my students freak out that I have the flu and am contagious.  But the second I say "I don't have the flu... I'm not contagious" my female students are likely to ask if I'm pregnant.  They have no filter, and have asked me already this year if I was pregnant when a kid came in to class high and the smell bothered me.  Help!

I just asked another teacher friend of mine and she said Vicks under the nose is how she survived the first few months of pregnancy.  Thank you, ladies, it's nice to know I'm not alone and that my stusbets aren't the only ones who are hygienically challenged.  And omg... Axe body spray... That stuff is no joke.  Makes me so sick.  Lol

I teach at a high school as well, sometimes I swear the biys gym class showers in Axe bodyspray so i feel your pain.  I sometimes put a descrete swipe of peppermint chapstick (I use Burt's Bees) under my nose to help block some smells.  I have also heard from a family friend that is a butcher that Vaporub, also right under your nose, works well. Good luck.  My teaching team and deparment head know but no one else, so same boat.  Good luck.

I teach high school as well. I had to find an air freshener that calmed my senses. Whenever odors would get to me, I would spray something to try to block them. Also, Step out for fresh air on your planning period.  Have ginger ale and crackers at all times as well. Your students will definitely ask you when they suspect you are.

I am a nurse so I understand all kinds of stinky smells. I keep scented hand sanitizer on me at all times use it when I feel a wave come over due to a smell and "itch" my nose to be sure to get some right under my nostrils so that's all I smell. I too don't want anyone to know yet either. I have thought about getting some Vicks as well and try that since its kind of minty smelling
