Smoking...

Ladies I need some advice. I'm 26 and 8 weeks 6 days pregnant with my first child. I've smoked a pack a day since I was 13. Since finding out I'm pregnant I've dropped it down to about 6 cigarettes a day. My fiancée and others told me not to stop cold turkey BC it will shock my system. Any advice on how to slow down more? I want my child to be as healthy as I could possibly make it.

Thanks!!

You can also try the e cigs. Research for the right one. I use one by blu that is just the nicotine and water vapor (asked 3 drs they all said its safe) I have my good and bad days which ***** because with my first I quit no problem. They even have disposables so you can try it for $10 instead of spending $75 on a full kit to find out you don't like it. Good luck

I smoke with my 1st 2 pregnancies I quit coldtturkey just involved replacing cigs with food and blowing up. My doctor told me only problem quitting like that is your more likely to start back up after you have baby and each time it gets much harder as I have found true. The 1st pregnancy I was able to quit immediately, the 2nd it took me a couple months to quit, but with this pregnancy I'm at33 weeks aand still struggling to quit and only managed so far to cut back. Doctor tells me keep trying if I can manage to quit this time it may be my ticket to permanently quitting. But I'm afraid to quit completely now this far in my pregnancy because some doctors do say further you are more dangerous it can be to quit because baby would suffer the withdrawal as well. The sooner and faster you quit completely the better. Just keep your mouth busy with gum, lollipops or whatever.

You're in luck! Thats a myth! You can quit cold turkey if you want/can handle it!
I'd say go for it! I think dropping the amount you smoke is a good place to start though!

Make yourself a promise not to start again after he/she is born too! No reason to start again after you already beat it! Youll save a ton of money, youll feel better and baby will be less likely to start when they grow up! :)

I am a wine drinker, like... every night was a glass or 2. Maybe more on the weekends haha
Its tough cutting things out of our routine! But we know its so worth it!
