So scared..

Went to the er on  Tuesday for severe lower stomach pain. Found out I have kidney stones and from the baby growing he's cruising the tube that runs from my kidney to my bladder so urine is going back up in my kidney. They told me I will most likely have to have surgery to place a thing in the tube to keep it open. Has anyone else been through this? Is it invasive? I won't  know anything until I see the urologist.

That's good to know, thanks! I've been doing my best not to take pain meds even though they say it safe for the baby I don't like to chance it

I've had kidney stones while pg n while not pg. Very painful. I ended up having a kidney stone removal surgery and they put n left a stint in. It was more painful than passing a stone with no meds. I'd recommend doing everything possible before taking that route. Some things my nephrologists (kidney Dr) recommend was a low sodium diet, lots of lemon water and when pain is really bad n don't wanna take narcotics drink 2oz cocoa cola every hour till pain reduces (the acid in it shrinks stones)

The dr says kidney stones are normal for some pregnancy but I've never heard of urine going back up in the kidney. They put me on a medication to help keep the tube open but I can't be on it for the rest of my pregnancy. I hope it stays open, I'm so worried about having surgery. I don't want it to hurt or affect the baby in any way

My sis had gall stones. She had to have surgery mid pregnancy. They tries to wait until delivery, but she got an infection. She and baby came through fine, and she delivered on schedule.
