Streptococcus B @ 24 weeks

I'm 24 weeks today,  Been sick with the flu b virus for over a week,  Tamiflu made me feel worse, diarrhea,  vomiting  been to the ER 3 times in the past 6 days, today I get a call from my ob's office stating I need to be on meds for Strep B they found in my urine culture.  I never even heard of this,  so I Google it, now I'm more concerned than ever for my baby.  Has anyone else heard or personally experienced this?

With my 1st she caught b strep. She was extremely poorly and was on antibiotics for 3 days. My waters broke and she contracted it from being inside me too long without enough water. I'm 38 weeks pregnant today... I have been tested for b strep to see if I was a carrier but thankfully I am not. However, because she had it, they will treat me with iv antibiotics when in labour. They will also swob baby when born to make sure baby hasn't got it. It's a very serious thing if they do get it. It was horrific she was so so poorly. So best they have found this now so they can treat you and baby if need be. My friend is a week infront of me and has been told she is a carrier. Alot of woman have it without knowing so it's good you know. Sorry you've been so poorly!!
