Stressed and really needing my baby girl to wait till her due date to come.

Im stressing out. My 10 month old son has been battling a virus thats causing fluid on his heart since September. At the end of September we took him to doctor for what seemed like breathing issues. We got sent to hospital for chest xray. They saw something wuth his heart so they immediately ordered a heart ultrasound. Within minutes after that we were transferred to PICU and a heart specialist was talking to us about signing papers to do a tap to remove fluid. Had we not brought him in when we did he wouldn't have made it. Very scary situation. He ended up staying in hospital for a week. When we left he still had a little fluid left so he was on a steroid. We continued steroids all of October when we went in at end of October fluid was down so dr switched him to daily ibuprofen. Fast forward one month to end of November. We went in and fluid increased considerably but not to the original dangerous level. At this point dr puts him back on steroids. After 2 weeks there was very little change but dr decided to try steroids for 2 more weeks at a higher dose. So this brings us to yesterday's appointment. The fluid went down a little more but its still there. Theres a surgery they can do that will take care of this forever but as with any surgery theres risk but we can't keep him on steroids forever and it seems when he goes off fluid increases. So decided to yet again try steroids for another week. But he scheduled an appointment with a surgeon thats 3 hours away from my home in 2 weeks. If hes not better in 1 week we will keep appointment with  surgeon and go have surgery done followed by a 2 day stay in a town 3 hours from home. My concern is the appointment with surgeon is 2 weeks before my due date and I'll be 3 hours from home. I know ill be at a hospital so i can always have my baby there but none of my family will be there.

Aww sorry to hear but at least it was caught in time and he is getting what he needs Prayers for you and your family!

Just got a call from the heart doctor himself to tell me that hes talked to surgeon and they are just gonna go ahead with the surgery. Since the fluid just keeps reoccurring and with the timing of my pregnancy they feel its best to just do it now since it would've likely come to that point anyways. He gave the surgeons office my number so now i just wait on them to call me so we can set up a time for that. Hoping for the beginning of next week so we can get it done before baby girl decides to make an appearance. So thats just a week sooner than  we thought it might happen but thats great news so less likely baby will be here before.
