prenatal vitamins

Prenatal vitamins are taking a toll on me. This is my third baby and I've had the same issue every time. Can't do pills, chewables leave that chalky taste in my mouth, and the gummies don't seem to have enough nutrients in them...any suggestions?

Regular pills and the prenatal chewables made me have nausea,  so i actually started taking lil critters gummy vites plus. They are kids chewable vitamins with the same stuff as prenatal including omega3 and dha. For some reason these do not give me nausea. It has folic acid in it but i also take a folic acid pill so i get a little bit more. Its worked for me maybe it will for you.  Also i have noticed that any of the chewy gummy vitamins that are sugar coated are ones that my stomach does not agree with. I think maybe too much sugar. Good luck

My doctor said the gummies are fine. They don't have iron but most people get enough in their food and do not need extra. Blood work have shown if it was too low and you need extra.   The DHA and folic acid are the most important. The CVS brand have all the stuff the name brand ones do and I personally think they taste way better. Good luck finding something that works for you!

My Dr. Told me that as long as I took two flintstone vitamins gummy or regular then everything would be fine. It was just like taking a regular prenatal.

I double or quadruple my gummy vitamin dose. :) and I take an iron supplement that I'd basically just fruit juices.

I take the gummies too even though I have a prescription for pill form. Potency was an initial concern of mine as well, but from everything I have read (not personal opinions), they work just as well.

In my first 2 trimesters the prenatals made me so sick. I would vomit so much if I took a prenatal vitamin. I stopped taking them and it was so much better. I just ate a tonne of food with iron and folic acid. Those are really the only two things that are important in the pnv anyway.

Do some research on what foods have iron and foic acid and incorporate more of those foods into your diet, then try again with the vitamins later on in your pregnancy.

Why can you not do pills may I ask ... If it's the size and swallowing may I suggest crushing them and putting them in food like yogurt applesauce or something to that affect

Nature made gummies were fine for me. I don't have an iron issue though so my doc said they were good because I get enough iron in my diet. I'm pregnant with twins too. Mine have dha as well. They are prenatals. But they are the only thing that doesn't immediately make me throw up.
