Terrified to be induced

Tomorrow is my baby's due date, but I'm still not dilated and my cervix is still hard. My OB has scheduled for me to be induced on the evening of June 10 (41 weeks) because of increased risks of baby having his/her first bowel movement inside. I was just reading about the risks of induction with pitocin online including fetal distress, and now I'm super worried. I just wish the baby would come out on his/her own. Any experiences with induction or words of wisdom?

My first I was induced with petocin on my due date because my blood pressure started getting really high. They hooked me up to monitors so they can track contractions and the babies heart rate. I had a natural delivery. I was 2 cm dilated at 9:50 pm when they started petocin. I had him at 7:00am. He was 7lns 14oz and perfectly healthy and happy no problems at all. My second I was also induced because of my blood pressure a few weeks prior to my due date they started petocin at 7:15am broke my water at 7:35am and he was born at 12:05pm. I did have an epidural with him. However, he was a happy healthy 8lb 11oz little boy as well. I think being induced is perfectly fine!!! No worries hunni!!!

I was induced with both of my older kids and had no suck problems. They do put monitors on your belly  to keep track of the contractions and the babies heart rate so of baby gets stressed they will know right away just try to stay relaxed I'm sure every thing will be fine and your little one will be here before you know it

I had the same thing with my second. I went in the night before to have my cervix softened, mine was 2 pills inserted by my cervix. At 8am my doctor came in they hooked me up to patocin and broke my water. By 9:50 she was crowning and my nurse was running around like a chicken with her head cut off because she set up my doctors stuff up wrong. A few minutes after 10am I had an amazing 8lb 1oz, 19 3/4in baby girl in my arms and already rooting.
