And no one said that the flu or the "fly shot" gave you the flu

But it's not paranoia. Its fact and statistic. It does cause injury, sickness, death, etc. This is acknowledged and concluded by the vaccine advocacy agencies. This is why there is a fund set up. A Canadian government study found that a vaccination doubled your chance of contracting that which you were vaccinated for. I get it, I know there are all different studies and findings saying all different things... so that makes it worth looking into doesn't it. These are not approved safe or recomended for pregnant women... if you'd read the flu vaccine inserts you would see that. I'm not saying it's black and white and I'm right you're wrong.. I'm saying it's worth a look into for yourself.

Wow so much wrong info here. The fly vaccine can not give you the flu, its a dead virus. I suggest more academic research for your self (not just google or on here), but actual medical journals or certified sites.

I am a nurse and the shot does not make you sick. I have had mine this year along with my whooping cough vaccine. I had colds before I got the shot and I have has them since.

Even though you may feel bad a cold is not the flu. The flu shot only protects against a few strains of the flu, they decide what strains they think will surface during that yrs flu season. So it is possible to get a strain of the flu even with the flu shot if you come into a strain that was not expected.

Some people have really become paranoid and should take a step back and get some knowledge from someone who is not paranoid. Lol.

I agree it can make you sick and the majority of the studies not funded by pharmaceuticals agree. Follow your instincts and do your own research. There is a national vaccine injury compensation program.. of course they can make you sick, any vaccine can cause brain inflammation and death says the cdc. The component of the scientific method that makes it so effective is being objective, so look into it more and don't let anyone tell you not to. Maybe you'll agree or maybe you'll disagree.

I agree that the shot probably isn't what makes you sick. I had mine in October and no, they don't give you the live virus if you're pregnant in the U.S. I've been sick on and off, but always associated it with pregnancy...for example, acid reflux can cause sinus problems. I pretty much always have a stuffy nose and it can make your throat hurt too, but doesn't even necessarily mean you're sick.

I'm not sure about yourself and where you live, but here in the UK they don't give pregnant ladies the live virus vaccine so it's impossible to make us ill. Are you sure it's not just a coincidence? As mentioned above, our bodies are working overtime to provide for our babies and this leaves us more susceptible to illnesses. Hope you feel better soon though :)

@shaynaruth they can't force anything on you... Is your decision to get it or decline it....

You're being sick off and on has nothing to do with getting the flu shot. It only protects against certain strains of the flu and doesn't cause illness. When your pregnant your immune system is compromised leaving you open to more illness. Just wash your hand frequently,  drink lots of fluids and rest when you can.

I haven't had my flu shot, aand people who know I'm pregnant and hear this think I'm an awful person. I didn't get pregnant till mid-November (conception), and I figured it was too late.  My specialist never said anything to me about getting a flu shot when they verified my pregnancy.  Chances are, next week at my next appointment is when I'll get "the look" from my doctor and they will force it on me.  I haven't had a flu shot in 12 years.  Hate the thing.  Hope you feel better.
