Tricks for relaxing

Ever since I found out I was pregnant I have had the worst anxiety! I've read so many different things, its difficult to know what to weed out. My first ob appointment isn't until July 15 and I don't won't to spend the next couple of weeks worrying. Does any one have any tricks for getting rid of this anxiety? Am I the only feeling this?

I know it's hard for you right now and I understand all your fears but don't allow those feelings to overwhelm you.  Pregnancy is a beautiful thing you have life inside of you growing this very moment.  Don't concern yourself with things that are not so.  If everything is going well in your pregnancy, don't put yourself through those kind of thoughts.  Only be concerned when you need to be. I know it's hard but you will be find.  Trust me, many women go through this and this to shall pass.  You'll be fine, enjoy the moment because it's only for 9 months,  I like looking at maternity clothes and baby clothes and it puts my mind on the gift thats been given to me. Girl, you got this! Everything will work out! :)

What ur going thru is completely normal. I'm a ftm and at the beginning of my pregnancy I had horrible anxiety attacks bc I was worried about everything. The hormones certainly don't help. It will get better in time. Try taking a soothing bath and lighting lavendar candles. Research helped me a ton. Read, go for walks, talk to people wbo have gone thru it. This.site.helps a lot too. Remember you're not alone.

My advice is go shopping get yourself excited about your little one. Get some baby bottles or diapers maybe some bootties or blankets. Start a storage container and just slowly fill it. When you get worried go threw it and remind yourself how you can't wait to greet your new addition. As far as birth defects two of my kids has bowel obstructions when born it happens. The dr was amazing and took care of them ones now 11 and the other is 4 they seem like nothing ever happened. With modern medicine you really don't have to worry the will fix anything. Im on number 4 and 80 percent of babies are born completely healthy. Your chances are low. The more you stress the worse it is for your baby. Also try pregnant yoga its amazing what stretching can do for your mind. Eat some pregnancy superfoods like greek yogurt or beans or my favorite popcorn its a whole grain.. Its healthy for the both of you and gives your baby extra nutrion. Folic acid everyday prevents defects 600 mg. You can buy it at any walmart. Hope this helps. And the best of luck to you

Yes it is my first.  Today I am so worried about what could go wrong and I can't stop worrying! This is crazy to me.  Before I got pregnant when my husband and I talked about what could go wrong (miscarriage, birth defects, etc) I had a if it happens it happens attitude.  Today I keep panicking about the possibility of a miscarriage.  I think I just need to take a deep breath and try and distract myself.  It's just that we are so excited and I'm fearful of that happiness being taken away. Thanks for listening!

At my last centering class a doctor came in and talked about this with us. The number one best thing to do is exercise.  She said you are litterally sweating out the anxiety.  20 min three times a week and only need to get your heart rate to 120. So a brisk walk. Its so doable. She also said its the only thing you have control of right now that will actually reduce postpartum depression as well.

Hmm is this your first child?...If it is, it's natural to have anxiety because your body is changing.  I'm pregnant with my second and I also had anxiety because it's been 11 years since I had my daughter.  You will be okay, you and your body are processing what's going on inside you Trust me all those feelings will fade after a while.  Take one day at a time, everything will be alright! :)
