Same in Texas, if a child's shot record is not up to date they cannot attend school, not only that you will have cps on your back for child neglect... "(

Please please have your child receive his or her vaccinations! It is too great of a risk To your child to not receive such life saving medicines. Two examples: Look at all of the third world countries that are still plague with diseases like polio that we have  removed from the United States! Look up the story about the young boy who sits in a hospital bed because his parents did not have him get a tetanus shot. This is a recent story and his parents were well educated about vaccinations. If your child suffers complications from the vaccines, yes it will be sad and devastating to you and your family for the greater good of the entire world it is best that we all, every single one of us take that risk.

I vaccinate my son and will vaccinate my next.
I have a wonderful relationship with my son's. pediatrician and have spoken to her and she has put my mind at ease.
I have a friend who has chosen not to vaccinate. her children and it's her choice... I have more respect for her than to berrate her for how she chooses to parent.
Research and have a conversation with your pediatrician.
Whatever you decide, make sure your pediatrician is in on it and accepts your decision. Not to please them but to please you. I wouldn't want a pediatrician who was for something I was morally against.

I agree with Sarah that I normally don't get involved in this debate because it tends to get heated and disrespectful.  There is no need for name calling.  While I do disagree with Sarah on the issue of vaccination I do not think any parent who chooses to not vaccinate their child is necessarily stupid or irresponsible.  I think we all do what we believe is best for our children.  With that said I have looked at all kinds of research and scientific data and have come to the complete opposite opinion.  I'm a firm believer in vaccination and believe there is ton of misinformation out there but I also think we need to keep these debates civil and realize like many parenting choices its not an easy decision.

I tend to stay neutral on this topic. I did finish microbiology course at the university and suggest them, but as long as you do your research only you can decide what is best for you. I dont think anyone should be pressured in any way. Either way everyone has to accept their choice and not blame others for out comes.

You bring up a great point though. We have to know our stuff. And you can find alternative ways to vaccinate etc. I havent studied up on it yet. But they will need shots to go to school...and later in life many jobs.

Ok Ive been trying to stay out of the debate because Im pretty used to it, but to say people that don't vaccinate are stupid is absolutly over the top.  Those diseases were irradicated for multiple reasons, most being hygine, and natural immunities building up ( not to mention the basic change in name of the diseases so it looks like their gone).  How many children have you avtually seen harmed by not vaccinating? Many have been harmed by vaccines.  And if you can find me one well done scientific study that proves that a) vaccines arent harmful, and b) that they are actually effective, I will be happy to change my stance.  I've looked hard and haven't found any.  Studies habe neen found to be poorly done on both sides, thats why its so important to read the actual studies themselves.  Even the vaccine companies admit there is risk of death due to their vaccines, just look at possible side effects.  With your last sentence it can be said the opposite as well.  Honestly its not an easy decision to make.  This is a choice we should all be able to make on our own, without over the top judgment from others.

Srios88.....I agree with him. We decided the same. After reading the ingredient list from the CDC website and examining what they are cause and affects....we decided the poisons weren't worth the benefits. I'm not looking for a fight or name calling as others already have done. I'm giving you my honest opinion. Our ancestors went with natural remedies to cure many diseases and lived long healthy lives without vaccines. This was a long battle and decision making for us..."Why is it that more and more diseases are on the rise, including mental illnesses, if we are choosing to vaccine more since there are twice as many vaccines then when we were kids?" It's a decision only you and your hubby can make. It's been a debate for many, many years. "Our bodies are already toxified with chemicals and cancer causing cells from unnatural foods and drinks, why add more chemicals that will only accelerates the process?" Just food for thought. You will hear both sides. I've seen more pain and suffering from vaccines than not having them, so it was our driving factor, along with the ingredient list alone. Best wishes and good luck with your decision, whatever path you may decide on. :-)

This is my opinion for those who doorn't vaccinate, I think its stupid. Why put your child at risk for polio, small pox, measles and German measles and tons if viruses that have almost been eradicated.  Why put them in harms way, so many studies have been done to check for problems caused by vaccines and there are very few. No it is not associated w/ SIDS, Autism or any of that all those rumors were proven false years ago. Parents get educated, I hate seeing little kids sick in the hospital because the parents are misinformed. This has to stop because Kids ate dying due to their parents negligence and misinformation.

Please vaccinate your children. I am a nurse and I have seen the damage not vaccinating can do to your child and the children of others that are in contact with your child. The reason that polio, mumps, measles are gone is because if the vaccinations

In Canada, you don't have an option unfortunately. If your child's immunization card is t up to date then they can't attend school.  I thought about not doing it but then my kids can't attend school.

There are also new vaccines rolling on the market. My oldest 3 had a billion shots I swear. (At least it seemed to be in the billions) My 4th has been on one of the new regimens and he's had half as many pokes.

The other option is to use an altered vaccination schedule.

Be very careful with your research there is a lot of 'data' out there from none reputable soyr is or people with an agenda.  Look at both sides of the issue but make sure to really checkout the places you get your research.  There is a lot of anecdotal 'evidence' as well.  For me and my family the risk is to great not to vaccinate.   I've looked at lots of research and will vaccinate this child as well.  Also checkout the recent increase in whopping cough incidents and death.

If the reason behind not vaccinating is Autism, go get the shots. I have 3 children with Autism. I still got my fourth all of his shots & will also get them for this baby. Two major reasons. 1) no autism isn't easy for my kids or me. But, it's better than risking the diseases and complications of them. 2) the study linking shots to autism was debunked. He faked all of the data. I

We don't vaccinate, after doing tons of research we decided its not best for our children.  Its a hard choice to make, but do your own research, its still hard to go against what do society tells you is right, but you want to be sure on your decision.  Some things I would look at are the link between pertusis and SIDS, the truth about the polio vaccine, the statistics on when diseases decreased (its before the vaccine was introduced in pretty much all cases), and doctors against vaccinations.  Thay should give you a good start, there is a lot to think about! Good luck!
