Vitamin b6 supplements during pregnancy

I started taking a 100 mg vitamin b6 supplement daily while trying to conceive in addition to my prenatal which also contains 15 mg of b6. I read that b6 helps increase your cervical mucus. I got pregnant the cycle I started taking the vitamin b6 supplement. Can I continue taking 115 mg of b6 now that I am pregnant or do I need to taper off or stop taking it altogether? I'm concerned about possible effects a high dosage of b6 has on pregnancy and developing baby. But I also read that since b6 helps produce progesterone, if you stop taking it right after getting pregnant your progesterone levels will decrease putting the pregnancy at risk. Please advise. Thank you.

Thanks MTB! That really puts my mind at ease knowing that your doctor advised you to take that high of a dose to help with morning sickness. Did you start taking it in the first trimester? And did you continue to take it for your whole pregnancy? And MsBHaven, I did consult my doctor but the nurse answered my question with such a vague answer that I needed a little more clarity before my first prenatal appointment next Friday!:) I think I'm going to continue taking the b6 supplement until I see the doctor and then see what she says about me continuing to take it. Thank you both for your feedback and advice!

I'm still in the 1st trimester. I didn't take it because my nausea wasn't terrible and I could handle it.

I take b supplements to help with morning sickness and I'm at 36 weeks. The best thing is to call your doctor. If you don't want to wait you can always call the nurses line.

My doctor told me to take vitamin b6 to help with nausea. So I think it might help you with nausea and lessen the effects. She told me to take either 25mg 4 times a day or take 100 mg 1 time a day.
