Category C doesn't mean no studies done on it period. Category C is defined as either there were animal studies that showed a potential risk but no human studies available Or no animal or human studies done. But it doesn't specify which. Category C medications should only be taken in pregnancy if the benefits outweigh the potential risks and only after consulting with your OB. Also in pregnancy stuffy noses aren't due to mucous they are due to increased nasal swelling from increased blood flow, so a decongestant is not going to help.

I currently have the same issue i work in a pharmacy and I verified with my pharmacist he who also has 5kids he said that Sudafed is a class C which means there are no studies bad or good on it so I could take that, but for me that was a no he did however suggest nasacort nasal spray I decided I would wait it out and suffer through id rather avoid using anything as much as possible

You should try sleeping with a humidifier or vaporizer during the night it helped me a lot. Im not big on taking meds during pregnancy so im not sure what you can take.
