What do contractions feel like?

This is my first pregnancy so I have absolutely no idea but every time I go to the Dr he asks me if ive been having them. Honestly I have no idea. I don't think I have but I'm not sure. So what exactly do they feel like? What's the difference between Regular and Braxton Hicks?

I wanted to know the same. This morning around 2am I had a tightening pain for the first time. I'm now 38 weeks and it was pretty intense. I couldn't move. I rolled on my side and had my husband press into my back  to ease the pain. They didn't get worse but happen twice today. I guess they were Braxton hicks contractions. But you will know when you get them. I can only imagine when I start getting real contractions.

Believe me,  you will know! I felt the true labor contractions in my back. They started as just the uterus tightening then as they started to get closer together it was pain in my back.

Maybe I am a wimp but it felt like my insides were being ripped out with a metal brush good thing is you forget the pain. I am due with #3 any day. Trust me you will know when it happens.

I'm glad I'm not alone! I have no idea either. I'm 30 weeks and I don't think I've had any BHs.  Everyone just says you'll know when you have real contractions so I guess we just wait and see lol

Contractions feel like cramps that get worse n worse. U can feel them bc they tightened up for seconds to minutes then release. Then do it all over again. If u put ur hand on the top of ur belly which is ur uterus u can feel them tight n release. Braxton hicks will go away if u lay on ur side, take a shower, or things like that. They dont get stronger n stronger.  So hope this helps.
